Townhouse In The Park

Townhouse In The Park is coming to Milton Park on June 24th as we celebrate our 25th birthday!

Townhouse has long played an important part within the Alsager community, supporting families and children. Children are at the heart of everything we do and we strive to make sure that every child in our care reaches their full potential. Our “Townhouse In The Park” event is our way of sharing our knowledge, experience and practice to every family within the local area. At the same time we wish to raise funds for a cause that is close to our hearts – The Cheshire Down’s Syndrome Society. The society supports Alsager families and together we have shared our knowledge and expertise to provide the very best in care and education.

We have teamed up with local business and projects that are connected to us or support learning opportunities for the children as they explore the world around them.

Cheshire Fire and Police Service

Cheshire Fire and Police Service have visited the settings to support the children’s knowledge of occupations in the community. They will be providing opportunities for the children to explore the emergency vehicles, meet the police and fire crew and chat to them about being safe.

Alsager Food Bank

We have supported the Alsager Food Bank which plays an important role to those most vulnerable. They will be there with a trolley for you to drop off any donations. The volunteers will share with you the impact the food bank has on the community and a summer project that’s supports families over the summer holidays.

First Aid

We pride ourselves on all our staff holding Paediatric First Aid qualifications to ensure we can keep everyone in our care safe. We want to provide opportunities for families to receive basic first aid demonstrations that could support you to deal with first aid in the home. St John’s Ambulance Service will be on site to provide medical care to anyone. They will be volunteers who will be demonstrating basic first aid and to chat to everyone.

Activities

We have lots of activities at Townhouse that the children thoroughly enjoy. Playmakers, Rhythm Time and Tiddly Boppers will be providing taster sessions throughout the event. You can book your place at the Townhouse Stand – places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Whilst you wait for your session there will be lots of other activities available for everyone.

You will find lots of activity and play in the Townhouse tents where the staff will be setting out a variety of experiences that they know the children will love to engage in. We have two tents themed around babies, toddlers and pre-school. You will find barefoot walks, sensory trays, play dough, music walls, a construction area and so much more. It is also important to provide a quiet area – this will be located away from the hustle and bustle that play brings to us all.

Food

I hear you say “Where is the food?” We have a designated area where you can purchase Italian food, chicken or pork sandwiches and jacket potatoes. There will be an ice cream van on site for you to pick up a tasty treat. We have created a picnic area, you are welcome to bring your own picnic and blankets and relax in the sunshine as you participate in garden games or sit and soak up the atmosphere in the sunshine.

Within the picnic area our Nursery Nutrition and Meal co-ordinator will be on hand to share with you the outstanding food we provide the children, how she engages the children in learning all about food. There will be some samples from our Summer menu for you to try. We have recently worked with Tesco who provide children with educational opportunities for them to engage in food at the store. Hayley and her team from Kidsgrove will be making fruit kebabs and sharing with you lots of information about healthy eating and the projects they run.

So please come along on the 24th June to Milton Park, where you can enjoy a day of fun, celebration, and adventure, whilst also experiencing what Townhouse is all about. Enjoy, ask questions, meet the team at a time when community has such a great meaning.
